Symbiosis

Symbiosis is a close relationship between two organisms. There are four types of symbiotic relationships. The four relationships are mutaulism, commensalism, parasitism, and neutralism. Each relationship is different. In mutaulism, both organisms benefit from each other. An example would be a clown fish and a sea anemones. They both benefit from each other. Commensalism is when one organism benefits and the other is unharmed. An example would be a barnicle and whale. Here the whale is unharmed. Parasitism is where one organism benefits, while the other is harmed. An example would be a worm living inside a bird. This would give a place for the worm to live, but it would bother the bird. In neutralism both organisms are unaffected. An example would be pelicans and cormorants. They are both not affected. These relationships can be seen anywhere. The Economy

One of the biggest news stories is the problems with the economy. The stock market is in trouble and people can't get credit. The U.S government wrote a $700 billion bailout plan. It hasn't had any positive effects yet. Several banking companies have gone out of business. One example is Lehman Brothers. The government also raised the insurance level on individual bank accounts. Both Presidential candidates have ideas on what to do with the economy and both are different.

Rocks

Rocks are something humans take for granted, but if we look closely we can see their beauty and variety. Rocks are made up of minerals. A mineral is a natural substance that isn't a plant or animal. Due to the different minerals, rocks can be different colors and hardness. Some rocks contain useful minerals, such as iron, lead, gold, copper, and other valuable substances. If a rock has minerals that make money, it is called an ore. Some rocks are beautiful. Some rocks such as pyrite and amethyst. Different minerals in rocks make up gem stones such as rubies, sapphire's, and emeralds. The next time you toss a stone or kick a rock, look closely because it may have something valuable inside!!!
